The logo for El Corral restaurant's original idea was to be a literal representation of what it evokes, clear to identify to anyone. This will eventually create challenges, such as readability, in certain logo reproductions, especially in small formats.
During the first sketches, I was trying to replicate the fences in such detail that will be easy to identify. As a Corral, fences define space, which was the second approach.
Kirsty is a very thick font that resembles and an old western feeling, with sharp edges, but with angles that give it a modern flair.
A choice of earth-warmed colors was chosen, giving the logo a more ground, farm, and country feel. Some bright colors were selected to complement the dark colors and, based on color psychology, have a resembles with food.
